Prop 57: Embr VIP Operator Commission Updates

This proposal is submitted by the Initia Foundation on behalf of Embr. Please see the following statement by the team below.

1. TL;DR

This proposal aims to increase the VIP operator commission rate for Embr.fun.

2. Proposal Details

About the Rollup

  • Protocol Name: Embr (Embr.fun)
  • Protocol Blurb: A novel launchpad where users can win big by focusing liquidity into the best memes.
  • Protocol Type: DeFi

Operator Commission Rate Changes

Given proposal 54 passing, we propose to increase the Embr.fun Operator Parameters from the current to the following. This puts our current reduced rate in line with other rollups and streamlines our operations.

  • Operator Commission Max Rate: 0.10.2
  • Operator Commission Max Change: 0.050.1
  • Operator Commission Rate from 0.10.15 (pt 1)

Rationale

The existing max commission rate was initially set at 10% during launch to encourage early participation and bootstrapping. Embr is only one of two rollups whose rates are at 10% and whose max rate is 10%. However, as the network matures and with Cabal VIP power increasing north of 45%, it is now appropriate to update this parameter to run sustainable bribing operations. We propose to raise the max rate to 20% to be in line with other rollups. We propose to raise the commission rate itself from 10% to 15% in a part 1 update, with the ultimate goal of bringing the rate to 20% in line with other rollups in future updates.

All of these extra commissions will be used to further promote our ecosystem, reward our users, and lay the foundations for Embr as the gamified memecoin appchain.
