Prop 701: Injective Meridian Mainnet Upgrade (v1.20.4)

The Meridian Mainnet Upgrade advances Injective’s position as the premier blockchain for institutional-grade tokenization. It expands support for regulated asset issuance and unified MultiVM markets, laying the foundation for tokenized stocks and real-world assets to be issued, traded, and settled entirely onchain.

Institutional-Grade RWA Issuance

Meridian brings support for regulated token implementations to the Injective EVM, allowing issuers to embed compliance and transfer requirements directly into tokenized products. This creates a purpose-built foundation for compliant RWA launches, tokenized equities, and new financial instruments on Injective.

Unified Tokenized Markets

New MultiVM capabilities enable asset controls to operate consistently across Injective’s native and EVM environments. Support for atomic purchases through the exchange precompile also gives EVM applications more direct access to Injective’s native liquidity and settlement layer.

Native Privacy Platform Testing

Meridian lays the groundwork for privacy-focused infrastructure and introduces early testing of private RFQ transaction flows. These controlled execution environments are designed to give institutions access to onchain liquidity while protecting sensitive trading and order information. The testing introduced with Meridian will prepare Injective for a broader suite of privacy features expected to be implemented in an upcoming chain upgrade.

Resilient Markets and Oracle Performance

The upgrade strengthens market execution, risk controls, transaction signing, and oracle processing. Improved oracle prioritization and relay validation provide more dependable pricing infrastructure for tokenized equities, RWAs, derivatives, and other advanced financial markets.

Together, these capabilities position Injective as the unified network for bringing global financial assets onchain.

If passed, this proposal will commit the Injective blockchain to halt at a target block height of 184394000 (approximately 15:00 UTC / 11:00 EDT on September 24th, 2026) and resume with the 1.20.4 version of the Injective Chain application binary.
