Prop 132: CONX Mainnet Transaction Fee Adjustment for Network Stability

Summary

This proposal aims to adjust the transaction fee parameters on the CONX Mainnet to support the stable transition and operation of the recently updated fee system and Dynamic Deflation mechanism.

During this transition period, we believe it is appropriate to maintain transaction fees at a level comparable to those applied before the recent fee policy changes, until further review and governance consensus are reached.

Accordingly, this proposal suggests adjusting the reference transaction fee from approximately 1 XPLA to 0.12 XPLA.

Background and Motivation

The CONX Mainnet has recently introduced significant changes to its transaction fee structure and tokenomics through the Dynamic Deflation mechanism and related network upgrades.

As these changes represent a substantial adjustment to the network's economic and operational framework, a period of stabilization and observation is necessary to evaluate their impact on network activity, transaction processing, and overall ecosystem operations.

Rather than immediately adopting a significantly higher transaction fee level, we believe maintaining fees at a level similar to the previous operating environment is a more prudent approach during this transition.

This approach is intended to minimize unnecessary changes to the user experience and provide sufficient time to assess the effectiveness and stability of the updated system.

The transaction fee policy may be reviewed and adjusted through a separate governance proposal once the updated system has been sufficiently evaluated and further consensus has been established.

Proposed Changes

1. Transaction Fee Parameter Adjustment

Adjust the Base Fee and Minimum Gas Price parameters as follows:

  • base_fee: 10000000000000axpla → 1200000000000axpla

  • min_gas_price: 10000000000000axpla → 1200000000000axpla

Under comparable gas usage conditions, this adjustment is intended to reduce the reference transaction fee from approximately 1 XPLA to 0.12 XPLA.

2. Stabilization of the Updated Fee System

This adjustment is intended to serve as a transitional measure while the recently updated transaction fee system and Dynamic Deflation mechanism are being stabilized.

The existing Dynamic Deflation mechanism and its distribution structure will remain unchanged under this proposal.

3. Future Governance Review

The transaction fee parameters may be reconsidered based on network conditions, transaction activity, and the operational performance of the updated system.

Any subsequent adjustment will be subject to a separate governance proposal and community consensus.

Expected Benefits

  • Support the stable transition to the updated transaction fee system.

  • Maintain transaction costs at a level comparable to the previous operating environment.

  • Minimize unnecessary disruption to users and applications.

  • Provide an observation period to evaluate the updated fee and Dynamic Deflation mechanisms.

  • Allow future fee policy decisions to be made through additional governance review and consensus.

Conclusion

We propose adjusting the CONX Mainnet transaction fee parameters to establish a more appropriate fee level during the stabilization period of the recently updated system.

Until a separate governance consensus is reached, we believe maintaining transaction fees at a level comparable to the previous operating environment is a reasonable and prudent approach.

This adjustment is intended to support network stability and provide a consistent operational environment while the long-term fee policy is further evaluated.
